SUPERVISION

Ensure an enjoyable, sustainable career.

Professional supervision is the key to a sustainable, enjoyable and fulfilled career in the Human Services sector. I provide the space and support for reflective practice and effective self-care, enabling you to work at your best and develop your career.

A supervision relationship requires trust, respect, and a safe, supportive environment to enable you to feel comfortable enough to be truly vulnerable, reflective and courageous. You can expect a focus on confidentiality, self-care, respect, and a non-judgmental approach.

“Tracy provided professional social work supervision during my employment in an individual and group work role. She was at all times warm and generous in her approach, and was able to build an immediate atmosphere of trust and safety. Tracy supported me to strengthen my reflexive practice and draw out assumptions I hadn’t realised I even held. In supervision sessions with her I was able to revisit pre-existing challenges and come up with new solutions and approaches. I would highly recommend Tracy.”

In supervision I use an extensive variety

of frameworks and approaches

Including critical reflection; strengths-based, narrative, feminist, and/or solution-focused frameworks; coaching; and mindfulness to enhance your supervision experience and outcomes.

I adhere to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Supervision Standards.

Areas of supervision focus include, though are not limited to:

  • LGBTIQA+ inclusive practice
  • Working with parents of LGBTIQA+ clients
  • Counselling and case management
  • Self-care – developing or strengthening
  • Work/life balance
  • Mindfulness practice
  • Leadership or team challenges
  • Leading teams
  • Managing complexity and change
  • Workload pressure
  • Performance management
  • Stress management
  • Workplace culture
  • Managing difficult conversations

We also need to take good care of ourselves in this work – check in with our own concerns, triggers and assumptions, and ensure we can access adequate support for ourselves.

I offer Professional Supervision for human services clinicians and practitioners (individual or small groups), via Zoom/Skype.

Sessions are generally 1 – 2 hours.

“Thank you for all your support over these years, you have been instrumental in helping many of us understand that we already have the skills needed to support young people and their families, we just needed to develop our language and knowledge to increase our confidence and believe in ourselves”.

Consultation

Do you work with LGBTIQA+
people or their families?

Are you feeling nervous or unsure, or are you wanting to improve your inclusive practice?

I provide professional consultation and support for individuals and teams who are seeking to expand their knowledge and confidence working with LGBTIQA+ people and their families.

I have over 10 years’ experience working with LGBTIQA+ people and their families and providing inclusive practice consultation and capacity building to individuals and organisations, from private practice to NGOs, to government organisations.

As a result of this experience, combined with my skills in coaching and therapeutic support, I have gained a wealth of knowledge, tools, and strategies to best guide you in understanding and supporting your clients.

Through this consultation process, you can expect to develop your confidence, inclusive language, knowledge, and skills in working with LGBTIQA+ people and their families.

Families of LGBTIQA+ young people often have their loved ones’ best interests at heart, but are not always equipped with the best information or strategies to adequately engage or support them.

There is plenty of evidence that demonstrates people fare much better when they have unconditional love and support from their families.

As a profession or sector, we can ensure families have the best chance of achieving this by providing them with support, understanding, the facts, and a safe space to air their concerns, fears, frustrations, and sense of loss.
